Reflections from the 11th Delphi Economic Forum, where AI moved from concept to core business strategy
For the 11th consecutive year, Generation Y took part in the Delphi Economic Forum, this time represented by our CEO, Evi Boukorou-Georgouda, and our COO, Martha Giannakopoulou. Held from April 22 to 25, 2026, under the theme “The Shock of the New”, the Forum brought together more than 1,200 speakers across 200 panel discussions, with global leaders, policymakers, and executives addressing the forces reshaping the international landscape. Among these forces, artificial intelligence and digital transformation emerged as defining themes of the three-day program

A Forum That Reflects the Pace of Change
The Delphi Economic Forum has always served as a barometer of where business, policy, and technology are heading. This year’s edition felt particularly significant. With geopolitical fragmentation, energy challenges, and accelerating technological disruption all converging, the conversations across Delphi reflected the scale of the transformation underway. For our team, the value of participating consistently over more than a decade lies in observing how these conversations evolve and how priorities shift from year to year.
AI at the Center of the Conversation
Across the three days, artificial intelligence was a recurring focus of the discussions we followed. The conversations covered its applications across industries, the operational and strategic challenges it brings, and the broader impact it is already having on how organizations function. What became clear is the level of interest from the business community and the clear movement toward AI adoption across sectors.
At the same time, the discussions made something equally clear: adoption alone does not create value. Real impact comes from how organizations integrate AI into their operations and adapt their structures around it. Connecting data, platforms, and processes in a meaningful way is the difference between AI as a tool and AI as a strategic capability.
The Shift from Adoption to Integration
This distinction matters for every business navigating digital transformation today. Many organizations are now beyond the stage of asking whether to invest in AI. The pressing question is how to deploy it in ways that connect with existing systems, respect data quality, support team workflows, and ultimately deliver measurable business outcomes.
At Generation Y, this is the work we do every day with our clients across Southeast Europe and beyond. From the development of our proprietary platforms such as Generation NEXT and Datalyzer to the integration of AI-driven analytics within complex B2C and B2B ecosystems, our focus has been on building digital infrastructure that creates room for AI to operate strategically rather than as a standalone feature.
Architecture of AI Digital Ecosystems
The discussions throughout Delphi reinforced a perspective our team has been developing through years of hands-on work: the next phase of digital transformation will not be defined by the AI tools businesses choose, but by the architecture they build around them. This is what we at Generation Y describe as the Architecture of AI Digital Ecosystems.
This concept reflects how AI, data, and digital platforms work together within a coherent operational framework. It addresses how customer data flows from acquisition channels into CRM systems, how AI models inform business decisions across departments, how content and commerce platforms remain connected, and how every layer of the ecosystem contributes to measurable performance.
For businesses across our region, this architectural approach is becoming essential. As competitive pressures intensify and customer acquisition costs continue to rise, organizations that treat AI as a structural element of their business rather than a feature added to existing operations are the ones positioned to lead.
Why Continuous Presence Matters
Participating in the Delphi Economic Forum for 11 consecutive years reflects a long-term commitment to staying close to the conversations shaping our region and beyond. These are not events we attend for visibility. They are spaces where our team listens carefully, exchanges perspectives with industry peers, and brings insights back to inform our work with clients.
Over this period, we have witnessed the conversation evolve from early discussions about digital adoption, through the e-commerce expansion years, into today’s focus on AI and integrated digital ecosystems. Each phase has informed how Generation Y has evolved as an organization, and each year at Delphi adds another layer of perspective to that journey.
Looking Ahead
The Forum closed with a clear sense that the pace of change is not slowing. AI will continue to reshape industries, business models, and competitive dynamics. The organizations that will navigate this period successfully are those that move beyond surface-level adoption and invest in the deeper work of building digital ecosystems that can absorb, integrate, and benefit from new technologies as they emerge.
At Generation Y, we move forward from Delphi with our priorities reinforced: continuing to invest in our R&D capabilities, supporting our clients with AI-ready platforms and integrated digital architectures, and contributing to the broader conversation about how Southeast European businesses can compete effectively in this new phase.
