Why being in the room matters, and what the conversations told us about where the Greek market is heading

Marketing Summit 2026 was, for us, more than an industry event. Eva Bouzi and Katerina Sarra represented Generation Y across two days of conversations with brands and senior professionals shaping the Greek marketing landscape. The setting, built by Boussias Events to be demanding, substantive, and populated by people who show up to engage rather than simply attend, made those conversations count.

An Environment Built for Substance

Held on the 25th and 26th of May at Grecotel La Riviera in Kyllini, the 2nd Marketing Summit follows a clear philosophy: bring together a focused circle of marketing decision makers and selected solution providers, and let the quality of the room do the work. This year that meant senior marketers and Heads from leading Greek brands, alongside companies offering marketing solutions and services, exchanging practices through a structured format of one-to-one meetings, roundtables, and strategic panels.

The agenda was organized around three strategic discussions: society in transition and the ground it creates for brands, the future of brand leadership, and the role of artificial intelligence in marketing. Each session reflected the current state of the market rather than abstract trends, which is exactly the kind of conversation that holds value for an agency working with clients every day.

Conversations Over Connections

It is easy to measure an event like this by the number of people you meet. We prefer to measure it by the questions we were asked. Across the two days, the brands and professionals we spoke with were not looking for a pitch. They were looking for partners who could answer real questions about strategy, performance, and the practical realities of digital growth.

That distinction matters. The marketing teams shaping the Greek market today are experienced and discerning. They know the difference between a service provider and a strategic partner, and they are increasingly choosing the latter. The conversations we had at the summit confirmed something we have built our work around: depth of experience, honesty in approach, and the ability to engage with difficult questions are what set a partnership apart.

What the Market Is Telling Us

If there was one consistent message across the room, it was this: the market is maturing, and so are its expectations. Brands want partners who understand their business, not just their channels. They want clarity over jargon, and they want to know that the people across the table have done the work before.

For Generation Y, this is a familiar conversation. With two decades of experience and a presence across Southeast Europe, we have always treated marketing as one part of a larger commercial strategy. Hearing senior marketers articulate the same priorities was a useful reminder that the direction we have chosen reflects where the market is heading.

Beyond the Room

The real value of an event like this is rarely visible on the day itself. It lives in the follow-ups, the relationships that develop, and the projects that begin with a single honest conversation. We left the summit with new connections, but more importantly with a clearer sense of how brands are thinking and what they are looking for in the partners they choose.

We were glad to be in the room. And we are even more glad for the conversations that started there, the ones that will continue well beyond two days in Kyllini.
